Mouse Action Demo
Arcade
Swing your sword to defend yourself from attacking orbs! The premise of this little game is to replicate the idea of "motion tracking" that the Wii or Xbox kinect does. Using logical mouse gestures, such as moving the curser from one side of the screen to the next, you can control the character's saber movements.
The side-purpose of this game is to get more used to "non-sketchy programming" that I have seldom done in the past, and this game is my second attempt at an interactive GUI (the first being OSQ, the in-game auto update demo). I don't know how I survived not using modules before. Furthermore, this was a sort of stress-test for particle counts using Solarune's wonderful XEmitter in combination with other processing intensive tasks (2D filters, high-buffer shadows, etc). For convenience, I added a button to turn off most of these effects for those that have computers with lower specs than mine – that being said, even while rendering a cycles animation on another instance of blender, I was still getting up to near 60fps for a medium spawn-rate.
Side note: this release on bGame is almost a year after the original release, I've just now made an account :)
